The Bride Dress
by Marwah Jbara Tibi
52 min. | 2019
The film captures the journey of two Palestinian brides, Lubna and Sumoud, who share the same wedding dress and the same challenge of having their grooms present on their wedding days. A political prisoner, Sumoud's Fiancé watches his engagement party through video from behind bars, and Lubna’s groom, denied an entry permit, takes the risk of being smuggled into Nazareth. In the film, we watch how the simple joy of marriage can turn into something much more complicated.
Fishless Sea
by Almalik Abusidu & Samer Qatta
51 min. | 2020
Originally from Jaffa, Abu Alaa’s family has worked as fishermen in Gaza for generations. The film takes the viewer on a journey on Abu Alaa's boat and documents the stories him and his children experience in the sea, which they cannot make a living out of due to the siege. While Abu Alaa' tries to pass on this profession to his children, they start to feel the frustration of fishing in a sea that does not widen their horizons.
